5000 series aluminum alloys (Al-Mg series alloys) are aluminum alloys with magnesium as the main alloying element, which are non-heat-treatable strengthened aluminum alloys. This series of alloys has low density and higher strength than 1000 series and 3000 series aluminum alloys. It belongs to medium and high strength aluminum alloys. In order to avoid stress corrosion of high magnesium alloys, the final cold-worked product should be stabilized, or the final cold-worked amount should be controlled, and the use temperature should be limited (not exceeding 65℃). This series of alloys are mainly used to make welded structural parts and are used in the field of ships and so on.
